Shuriki is an evil, power-hungry sorceress that appears in the crossover, Elena and the Secret of Avalor.
Biography[]
She trapped Elena inside the Amulet of Avalor and took over the kingdom of Avalor after murdering Elena's parents and the current sovereigns, King Raul and Queen Lucia. 41 years later, Sofia frees Elena and helps her reclaim her kingdom from Shuriki. Elena breaks Shuriki's wand into two pieces and she turns into an old woman, without power now. She falls into the water, everyone thinking she died.
However, unknown to Sofia or Elena, Shuriki survived, and plots her revenge against Elena to retake Avalor once more, as shown in the Elena of Avalor special, "Realm of the Jaquins". She has allied with her former allies in the Delgados and the Malvago wizard Fiero to get her revenge, and seeks the dark counterpart to Elena's Scepter of Light, the Scepter of Night, for her revenge. Though she failed to get the first piece due to Elena and her friends, she sets off to find the next one, with the intention to get the first piece back from Elena when she comes for the second piece herself as well.
Finding new allies in Troyo, Cruz, and Vestia, Shuriki manages to acquire all three pieces of the Scepter of Night, and soon has Fiero teach her on how to use it properly as she prepares for her second takeover of Avalor, with the possible intent to also seek revenge on Sofia and her family for their part in her original defeat at Elena's hands. Within a few days, she masters the Scepter of Night's powerful spells of destruction and dark fire, making her an even more dangerous foe for Elena, who prepares for the final confrontation with Shuriki by training with her Scepter of Light as well.
Shuriki apparently, finally, meets her end at Elena's hands at the end of the special, "Song of the Sirenas", when Elena hits her point-blank with her Scepter of Light's fire spell after escaping Shuriki's attempt to kill her first. However, she makes one final appearance as a spirit in the series finale, "Coronation Day", cheering on Ash Delgado and her Olaball team as they face Elena, her parents, and Zuzo to decide who would be returned to Avalor by the Grand Macaw.
